The True Beauty of Makeup? By Make Up Like A Pro
Hey guys and girls. Hope you’ve all had a great week ? Can’t believe it’s 3 weeks till Christmas now! Hope that you’re all enjoying the run up? There’s plenty of festive treats to cast your eye over…including tonnes of beauty ideas for the festive period!
A photo caught my eye this week as it caused a bit of a stir on twitter. The attached pic is of 3 gorgeous girls who are Victoria Secrets models. As you’ll see the photo is of each of the models before and after makeup
Now, when I look at that photo my instant reaction is what a GREAT job the makeup artist did at making these models look EVEN BETTER than they already do when they are natural. Their whole hair and makeup styling is stunning and it makes the most of these models BEST features. That’s my goal when I do a ‘beauty makeup’ on my clients. That’s also my goal when I do a makeup on myself! The products and their application can be used to work magic and can literally transform someone. I think of a face without makeup as a blank canvas. Something POSITIVE that I can look at and shape and create colours and depth. Bring out best parts and if necessary, work to conceal other parts. There’s absolutely NO SHAME in doing this and looking at the before and after shots is nothing more than a beautiful piece of live art. Seeing somebody’s reaction when they look at themselves after being transformed is priceless. To show somebody a few tips and tricks that will enhance their best features is incredibly rewarding
I was shocked and saddened though, as a lot of people got, what seemed to me, a morbid personal satisfaction from seeing photos of the models without makeup, and made comments about the girls looking “rough “. There were comments suggesting that the models were somehow not worthy of being gorgeous models as they look “rough” without their makeup. And that “at last we get to see what they REALLY look like” as if the general public have somehow been duped! These women are true beauties with fantastic features… their face and their bodies … and instead of looking at their transformation as something quite incredible, they get ridiculed for looking so different without makeup!
Shocked that people would be so narrow minded!
I guess my resulting feelings after reading those negative comments and wanting to write an article about it is that you should all (if you’re not already that is!) try and see the potential power behind your own brushes, pallets, creams, colours, products … All of it … and embrace the fact that makeup can be used to create a unique transformation in SO many ways
It’s in no way a negative force … A makeup artist to a blank face is like an artist to his canvas …it’s magic waiting to happen!
Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend
Go and create something new today you beautiful people!
